If nothing changes, nothing changes.

How many times have you heard this phrase, or something like it?

Sorry if it feels like I’m repeating the headline here — but it’s true!

If you change nothing, nothing changes. — Joyce Brothers

What does that mean?

Doing the same things over and over again and expecting different results is a slow but sure way to send yourself slightly crazy. If you follow a pattern or combination of things that don’t bring you what you want , and then do it again, and again - you won’t get the change you are seeking.

Maybe you don’t know what change it is that you want -and that is stopping you from making the leap into the unknown. The unknown is a scary place, right? But if where you’re at isn’t bringing you any joy, then what have you got to lose?

Let’s just say that you spend your waking hours daydreaming about all the things you wish you had in your life right now: a fulfilling job, a partner that brings you the joy and harmony you seek, a fulfilling life that means you wake up with a huge smile on your face every day (you’re probably not recognising the good things that are right under your nose at the same time) yet you have absolutely no idea how to get to them. The idea of missing these things is weighing you down, you feel like you are being held back from achieving them yet you are doing nothing any different to making your way to find them!

Even if you don’t know exactly what it is that you want to change, you can make a commitment to yourself right now that it is time to do something different.

Even the biggest journeys start with one small step

Doing something in a different way, even something as simple as changing your morning routine, adding in something new to mix it up a bit, can change the shape of your whole day.

And by changing that , you can change your outlook, one small step at a time. Sometimes we get so caught up in all the things that are going wrong, we don’t spend any time working with what we have right now.

Make the commitment to yourself today that it’s time for a change. If you know it, in your heart, then you will find a way to bring it about. Make a list of things you can do in this moment to take small steps towards something different. I look forward to hearing how this changes things for you.

Even the biggest journeys start with one small step.

I work with women who feel stuck in the rut of an unfulfilling ‘groundhog day’ life. I help them identify repeating patterns so they can fully live their lives.
